Policy Residency
The Residency brings together graduate student researchers from various academic disciplines at prestigious universities to collaborate and analyzing a pressing policy issue in the global south.
Residents are guided by subject-matter experts with an influential voice in public matters.
Past advisors have included professors and board members from top-universities, senior civil servants, non-profit and corporate leaders, along with a U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom Award winner.
Residents and advisors work together to author, public and disseminate our annual policy brief.
The program culminates with the launch of the publication during the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.

I am currently a Senior Program Coordinator at the Newcomer Centre of Peel and am graduating from the MA in Immigration and Settlement Studies program at Toronto Metropolitan University. My passion lies in fostering community engagement and creating inclusive spaces for marginalized groups—both within my own community and in international contexts—work that is deeply connected to my story as the daughter of a refugee and someone who grew up in a diverse, biracial family. These personal experiences ground my professional path and fuel my commitment to advancing equity, belonging, and meaningful participation for all communities.
