/Bangla — striving to survive

We ignited from an audacious belief that the talent, passion, and generosity of diaspora communities can become a revolutionary force for helping others.

Our History

2020

There was no plan and no budget. Just people in Toronto, Dhaka, and New York connecting those who want to give with those who need it most. By 2022, the IOM, Columbia, McGill, and the EU had taken notice of our humanitarian work — and we started asking whether this energy deserved a home.

2023

We registered as a non-profit and built three pillars: community, research, and welfare. We knew we had policy expertise, so we created the Policy Residency — bringing graduate researchers together to tackle issues the sector wasn't touching. And we wanted to bring diaspora communities together in person, so the Impact Social was born in New York City.

2024

We needed to say something year-round, not just in annual briefs — so ImpactInk became our publishing platform, tripling readership in its first full year. We saw young people who needed more than a workshop, they needed a launchpad. so we built the Global Impact Fellowship. And to engage the United Nations and World Bank on our Research publications, we started hosting Global Advocacy panels.

2025

We kept meeting young changemakers across South Asia doing remarkable work with no recognition. So we created IMPACT25 to honour them. And we wanted to reach even younger voices, so we launched Youth Voices a policy essay competition inviting high school students to write about the world they want to build.

2026

Our mission is no longer just about Bangladeshis. We are enabling the development of people and places — through the nine community, research, and welfare programs we have built over the past six years.
