Context
In many low-income and underserved communities across Bangladesh, people face growing risks of financial scams, informal lending traps, and money-related stress due to limited access to financial education. These challenges are especially pressing as mobile banking becomes more common, yet remains poorly understood.
To help bridge this gap, a practical financial literacy session was delivered in Bengali at a trusted local community space. Using real-life examples and simple tools, the session focused on budgeting, protecting personal financial information, and recognizing fraud—empowering participants to make informed and confident financial decisions.
Led by a community-based facilitator, the session created a safe and interactive space where participants could ask questions, share experiences, and learn from one another. Visual aids, group discussions, and demonstrations using everyday tools like receipts and mobile money apps made the content accessible and relevant—ensuring that learning was practical, not just theoretical.
