Policy Residency
The Residency brings together top tier graduate-level researchers from diverse academic disciplines at prestigious universities to collaborate and analyze a pressing policy issue in the global south.
Residents are guided by subject-matter experts with an influential voice in public matters.
Supervisors have included renowned faculty and board members, senior civil servants, non-profit and corporate executives, along with a U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom Award winner.
Residents and advisors work together to author, publish and disseminate our annual policy brief.
The program culminates with its launch during the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) week in New York City.

Biographies

Mohamed Khalil Larhrib is a political science professional from Morocco. Born in Marrakech, he completed his engineering degree in Morocco. Throughout his studies, he discovered a passion for social issues and decided to make that passion his career.
He earned a master’s degree in International Relations and worked at the Morocco representation to the United Nations in Rome for three years. He is particularly passionate about education, believing it is the cornerstone for building economic growth. Some of his hobbies include reading, watching football (soccer), and spending time with his puppies.

Abyaaz Khan (he/him) holds a Master of Public Policy (with an emphasis on social and urban policy) and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, Sociology, and Political Science, both from the University of Toronto. Grounded in his lived experiences in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Abyaaz is interested in unravelling the transnational nature of today’s complex global challenges. His research explores themes such as labour rights and circularity in Bangladesh’s ready-made garment sector, solutions to the ongoing ecological and climate crises, and the post-conflict restructuring of political institutions, with a focus on the Global South. In his spare time, he reads literary fiction and paints. He has also worked with researchers, nonprofits, and municipal governments in Canada and internationally.
