Q2: Impact & Opportunities
Quarter Two.
July 1 2025 - September 30 2025
In a noisy landscape, we shared a central message with our people this summer:
Our signal will be our community’s trust in our work.
We are proud to welcome ten extra-ordinary Global Impact Fellows and four ingenious Policy Residents for 2025-2026.
We are eager to confirm the theme of our inaugural essay competition for high school students from top English Medium Schools in Bangladesh: Reconciliation.
We are happy to announce Impact25, our flagship bid to recognize the global majority’s top 25 social welfare leaders, under 25.
We are honoured to share the creation of three boards to advise the success of our community, research and welfare programs. Members will be announced on January 1 2026.
To our people, partners and patrons, thank you for being there. Truly, we felt the difference.
One last thing, we are launching in Malaysia!

Seven Big Accomplishments
Updates from our leaders on important milestones at BacharLorai:
🏛️ Shaping Tomorrow's Policy: We are elated to welcome our 2025-2026 Policy Residents: Abyaaz Khan, Josephine Anisa Bhamani, Mohamed Khalil Lahrib and Maisha Syed Fatima. The Residents have selected “Climate Resilience and Worker’s Protection in the RMG sector in Bangladesh” as their topic of interest. Our policy residents will delve deeper into the topic and shape the policy discussions around the RMG sector, the biggest source of revenue in Bangladesh, when sustainability is becoming an integral part of business operations for the fashion industry. The residents will soon be starting the policy draft. - Nahid Tahrima Rashid and Aditi Zahir
🌱 Seeding the Future: We have officially welcomed ten extraordinary Global Impact Fellows for the 2025 cohort: Eshita Chahal, Jimran Saiak, Mishika Khurana, Nazifa Sarwar, Olivia Hoffman, Samm Mohibuddin, Sanaa Bashar, Shajalal Hossen, Talha Mahmood, Tabassum Rami. Our fellows will develop social entrepreneurship skills, connect with non-profit sector professionals, and contribute to meaningful social welfare projects in a cross-cultural setting. - Mathira Kawser and Saniyah Farzeen
🤝 Community Expansion: We continue to grow our global community, most recently hosting a successful Impact Social in London with 20 high-profile guests - opening doors for new conversations with our growing list of partners in the UK. On the other side of the Atlantic in Toronto, we hosted Power in Motion, a women-led self-defence workshop in partnership with SisterFit. It provided a trauma-informed session to build confidence and safety for young racialized, newcomer, and low-income women across the GTA.- Ahnaf Zarif and Sreya Tahsin
🇺🇳 A Strong Voice at UNGA: Our team made a significant impact during the U.N. General Assembly in New York, attending 21 events and establishing approximately 350 new connections with think tanks, magazines, and civil society leaders to mobilize support for our programs. - Samantha Mastroianni
🎤 Taking the stage in Bangladesh: In September, BacharLorai took part in two national forums that brought together over 500 youth leaders, policymakers, and development partners. At the National Youth Conference, we emphasized inclusive participation and the importance of safeguarding civic spaces for young people across all 64 districts. At the Local Conference of Youth, Bangladesh, we highlighted how diaspora advocacy can strengthen Bangladesh’s climate resilience and connect global policy dialogue with grassroots action. - Samantha Mastroianni
🎒Partnering with Universities: In another first, we have launched a formal collaboration with the Social Innovation Program at the University of Toronto Mississauga, where Gurshan, Holly, Ziyad, Justin, and Sophie will help us research and refine our Global Impact Fellowship model for even greater impact. - Mathira Kawwser
✒️ Record-Breaking Readership: ImpactInk, our policy publication, has had its best start since our inception. With 249 reads on our recent articles on RMG and Financial Inclusion and a growing base of new, influential subscribers who are engaging with our data-driven reporting on consequential local issues. - Wardah Malik

We are proud of the remarkable acts they undertake to uplift people.
And that’s how we meet any moment.
