October 01 2025 - December 31 2025

Welcome, and welcome back.

Thanks to your outpouring of support, fall was spectacular across BacharLorai.

Our teams demonstrated the scale of our tri-pillar ecosystem, connecting policy research at global forums with grassroots community engagement and frontline relief. As of December 31 2025, we have benefitted 3,357 people for this fiscal year.

Looking ahead, we are honored to welcome Ananya Chhaochharia, Ashif Akash Mujib, Cemre Ulker, Dr. Joann Halpern, Neil Bouwer, Ricardo Chejfec, Ruby Guillen, Sanjoy Deb, Dr. Taylor Hirschberg, and Zarin Rashid to our advisory boards.

Representing development, technology, academia, government, the Fortune 500, culture, and media, these inaugural advisors anchor our Community, Research, and Welfare programs in world-class expertise.

To open 2026, we are celebrating four inaugural partnerships with McGill University, BRAC University, New York University, and the University of Toronto.

These alliances include our inaugural bid to enter the AI-for-Development space, through the sponsorship of a research project on the Governance of Artificial Intelligence in South Asia.

We will remember your steady support throughout the last three quarters as we rally together for a solid finish to this defining year.

With a background in Economics from the University of Chicago (MAPSS) and UW-Madison, Shirley spearheaded the quantitative strategy for the "Jobs for the Future" policy brief on youth unemployment in Bangladesh. Going beyond traditional analysis, she developed an interactive decision-support simulator to model policy impacts, which was a key feature of Bacharlorai’s engagement at the 2025 IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings.

Shirley is dedicated to transforming complex survey data into actionable, evidence-based policy insights for the Global South.

“As a quantitative policy researcher passionate about labor markets, institutional design, and social safety nets, my work has enabled me to drive evidence-based policy analysis to shape real-world outcomes for vulnerable populations.” - Shirley

From the Boardroom

Welcoming 2026, we find ourselves at a pivotal vantage point.

The close of Quarter Three marks the beginning of our final push to define our third fiscal year by March 31 2026.

This past fall was a period of institutional maturation. Reaching 3,357 people by year-end was unexpected, but the true story lies in the "how."

By welcoming ten world-class board advisors and new programs with McGill, BRAC, NYU, and the UofT, we are formalizing our grassroots energy in global expertise.

Our inaugural bid into the AI-for-Development space reflects our commitment to not only addressing today’s crises but also governing the tools for tomorrow.

Our progress this year will mark our flight from a community initiative to a pro-active ecosystem where policy research, community engagement, and social work feed into one another to promote development of people, and development for people.

We enter this final quarter with a simple goal: to take the trust you’ve placed in us and turn it into a historic finish.
